Obverse description Fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, effigy by Ian Rank-Broadley. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend surrounding the effigy reads 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' with the denomination '100 DOLLARS', fineness '9999 GOLD', weight '1oz', and date '2009' also inscribed. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the portrait.

Reverse description A detailed high-relief depiction of an ox resting on a grass mound, its head turned slightly to the right with prominent curved horns. The Chinese character '牛' (ox) is prominently displayed in the upper right field. The legend 'Year of the Ox' curves along the lower portion of the coin within a raised border.
