Obverse description The obverse features the fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile with a diadem, rendered in high relief against a frosted black field. A central circular cutout fitted with a transparent capsule enclosing loose faceted red garnet gemstones is positioned in the lower half of the coin's field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery and AUSTRALIA along the upper right, with 1OZ 9999 GOLD and 100 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower arc, and the date 2013 appearing at the bottom. The reeded outer rim is struck in polished proof finish consistent with the coin's overall presentation.
