| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III after the portrait by Justin Clark, whose initials 'JC' appear below the truncation. The peripheral legend reads 'CHARLES III · NIUE 2025 ·' to the upper left and '100 DOLLARS' to the upper right, with '· 1oz 9999 GOLD ·' inscribed along the lower arc. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, consistent with proof coinage standards. |

Niue's legal tender gold issues are a licensing arrangement — the island territory delegates coin design and marketing entirely to overseas minting houses, with the Niuean government collecting a royalty fee. The coin exists because that commercial model is profitable, not because Niue has any particular relationship to coral reef conservation or to the British Crown beyond its constitutional status as a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand.
