Obverse description A circular medallion-style effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II, depicted in right-facing portrait with a diademed and elaborately coiffured bust, is centrally positioned against a gold-plated field engraved with undulating wave-line patterns evoking van Gogh's signature brushstroke style. The circular legend around the effigy reads 'ELIZABETH II - SOLOMON ISLANDS' above and '100 DOLLARS - 1 KILO SILVER 999' below. The date '2023' appears beneath the circular portrait in the lower centre of the rectangular field. A serial number '127/750' is inscribed in the lower left, and the commemorative inscription 'Anniversary 170th Vincent van Gogh' appears in stylised script in the lower right quadrant.

Reverse description A full-colour reproduction of Vincent van Gogh's celebrated 1889 painting 'The Starry Night' covers the entire rectangular reverse field. The composition faithfully renders the swirling nocturnal sky with luminous celestial bodies, rendered in vivid blues and yellows with raised relief detailing; the stars and moon are highlighted with gold-plated surfaces to create a striking contrast against the coloured enamel ground. A tall dark cypress tree rises dramatically from the lower left, while a village with a prominent church steeple and rolling hills occupies the lower centre and right. The piece commemorates the 170th anniversary of the birth of Vincent van Gogh.
