Additional information

The Wedge-Tailed Eagle bullion series from the Perth Mint has run since 2014, but the high-relief proof variant occupies a distinct production niche — dies are prepared with far greater camber than standard issues, requiring multiple strikes at higher pressure and limiting output to a fraction of the standard bullion run. The 2024 date marks the first year of Charles III's effigy on Australian coinage following the transitional issues of 2023, with Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait adopted as the standard for Commonwealth realms.

Mintage on high-relief proof issues in this series has historically been capped at 250 pieces worldwide.
