Obverse lettering CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS THIS CERTIFIES THAT there have been deposited at the HAWAIIAN TREASURY ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS IN SILVER COIN payable to the bearer ON DEMAND
Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in blue-green and is dominated by a central vignette of the Hawaiian Royal Coat of Arms set within an ornate cartouche, flanked by symmetrical guilloche rosette panels bearing the numeral '100' in bold counters at left and right. An elaborate scalloped and interlaced lathe-work border frames the entire face, with star ornaments at the upper corners. The legend 'HAWAIIAN TREASURY' arches across the top and 'CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT' runs along the lower margin, with the imprint of the American Bank Note Company at the foot.
