| Obverse description | A close-up frontal effigy of the Statue of Liberty, depicting her radiate crown with seven rays extending outward into the field, engraved after John M. Mercanti's design. The face is rendered in high relief with fine detail, her draped robe visible at the lower portion of the design. The legend LIBERTY arcs across the upper field, with the date 2013 positioned to the right, and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST inscribed below the date. The secondary motto E PLURIBUS UNUM curves along the lower left rim, with the engraver's initials JM visible at the lower left of the portrait.
