Obverse description Green and olive-brown note with a central guilloche vignette enclosing the bank's heraldic arms flanked by the numeral '100' on either side. The upper portion carries the bank title 'THE CHARTERED BANK' in bold letterpress with the promise clause beneath, and the Chinese characters 滙打銀行 in red at the top. The lower register bears the denomination legend 'ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS' on a solid panel, with the issue date 'HONG KONG, 9TH APRIL 1959' and dual manuscript signatures for Accountant and Manager below.
