| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of São Tomé and Príncipe is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, featuring a shield adorned with a palm tree flanked by two black African grey parrots as supporters, their wings spread upward. A five-pointed star surmounts the shield, and two scrolled banners bear the national motto DISCIPLINA, UNIDADE, and TRABALHO.
