Andorra's high-denomination silver issues of this period were produced largely for the collector market, given that the principality had no independent monetary authority of its own and relied on euros for everyday transactions. The 100 Diners denomination was never intended for circulation.

The Trevi Fountain was completed in 1762 under Clement XIII, finishing a project that had languished for decades after Nicola Salvi's death in 1751.
