Na-Ma — Narodni Magazin — was a Yugoslav state-run department store chain, and like many large socialist retail enterprises in the late 1950s it issued its own scrip for internal use, typically to manage employee advances, layaway deposits, or in-store credit schemes outside the formal banking system. These vouchers circulated within the store's own transactions rather than in the broader Yugoslav economy.
Yugoslav National Bank oversight of such commercial scrip was inconsistently applied during this period, which partly explains why retail and cooperative token issues from this era survive in such irregular quantities.
