Printed at Dom Štampe in Zenica during the siege of Sarajevo, this note was produced under active wartime conditions — the press facility operated intermittently as shelling and supply disruptions allowed. Bosnia's wartime monetary system was improvised from the ground up after the republic declared independence and found itself without a functioning central bank infrastructure, foreign exchange reserves, or established printing relationships.

The 1994 series was already losing ground to hyperinflationary pressure before most notes reached circulation. Dom Štampe's involvement is significant: one of the very few cases of a country printing its own wartime currency domestically, inside a conflict zone.
