Bosnia's central bank had barely been established when this note was issued — the National Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina was only declared independent from the National Bank of Yugoslavia in April 1992, within weeks of the republic's international recognition and the immediate outbreak of war. The 100 Dinara was among the first issues attempting to assert monetary separation from Belgrade, though Yugoslav federal notes continued to circulate alongside it throughout the conflict.

Hyperinflation rendered the entire early dinar series obsolete within months. P#6 was not a note that circulated long enough to wear out.
