Additional information

These coins were struck in the first years of Reza Shah's reign, immediately after the Majlis formally deposed the Qajar dynasty in October 1925 and installed him as the founder of the Pahlavi line. The 100 Dīnār denomination was part of a deliberate monetary restructuring intended to project the legitimacy of the new dynasty through everyday commerce — the coinage itself was a political act as much as a fiscal one.

Production ran across three years as the new regime stabilized its institutions, with pieces struck at the Tehran mint.
