| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark blue-grey intaglio on plain paper, composed entirely of typographic and ornamental elements without a pictorial vignette. A dense guilloche framework borders the note, enclosing a central panel with the large denomination legend 'HUNDERT DEUTSCHE MARK' in bold letterpress, beneath which the issuing authority text appears in spaced capitals.
