Additional information

Pattern issues from the National Bank of Macedonia are rarely documented in depth, and this piece sits in that murky territory between monetary proposal and collector artifact. Goce Delčev — the revolutionary for whom this denomination was named — was killed by Ottoman forces in May 1903, exactly a century before this coin was struck. The centenary of his death almost certainly drove the timing of this pattern's production.

KM#Pn2 suggests very limited official documentation; most Macedonian patterns from this period never advanced to circulation strikes.
