Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia is depicted centrally in raised relief against a mirror-polished field, featuring a stylized rising sun above a mountain landscape framed by wheat sheaves tied at the base. The Cyrillic legend РЕПУБЛИКА МАКЕДОНИЈА arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 100 ДЕНАРИ is prominently rendered in large numerals across the lower field. The date 2017 appears in small characters just below the coat of arms, between the central device and the denomination. The lower portion of the obverse field displays a matte, textured finish in contrast to the polished inner field, lending a cameo proof aesthetic to the design.

Reverse description A vividly colored rooster, rendered in polychrome enamel-style application, occupies the center of the reverse field, its plumage depicted in rich red, gold, and green tones characteristic of Chinese Lunar New Year iconography. A stylized sun with radiating rays is visible in the background behind the rooster. The legend HAPPY YEAR OF THE ROOSTER arcs along the upper border in Latin script, while the date 2017 appears in the lower field. The overall composition celebrates the Chinese Year of the Rooster and is framed by the coin's reeded edge.

Additional information

Macedonia's National Bank issued this piece as part of a broader decorative bullion program that leaned heavily into kinetic novelty — the "wind spinner" designation refers to a die-cut rooster element designed to rotate within the coin's frame. These mechanical novelty coins became a minor industry among smaller national mints in the 2010s, with the technology licensed through a handful of European minting houses. KM#65 is a low-mintage collector issue with no circulation role whatsoever.
