Reverse description A three-quarter facing bust of Admiral of the Fleet Earl Mountbatten of Burma is prominently rendered in the central field, slightly turned to the right. His birth year 1900 appears to the left of the portrait and his death year 1979 to the right, commemorating his assassination. The denomination 100 CROWNS is inscribed below the portrait, flanked on each side by an anchor motif symbolising his distinguished naval career. The name MOUNTBATTEN is inscribed in the upper field above the portrait.
