| Additional information |
Nicaragua's wildlife series has drawn little serious collector attention despite genuinely competent execution — an undervalued corner of Latin American numismatics. The giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) is classified as vulnerable by the IUCN, its range having collapsed significantly across Central America, with Nicaragua sitting near the northern edge of its remaining habitat.
