Obverse description Dark blue intaglio on a guilloche underprint, with a classical allegorical female figure seated at right; the central denomination panel displays bold 100 numerals above a bilingual text block stating payability in United States gold coin or sight bills on New York at four colones per dollar. The issuing authority legends of BANCO INTERNACIONAL DE COSTA RICA and CAJA DE CONVERSIONES appear at the top, with red serial numbers at upper left and right, series letter, and the date Diciembre de 1924 at lower right. Two manuscript signatures of bank officials appear along the lower margin, and the printer's imprint of the American Bank Note Company is present.

Reverse description Printed in olive-green, the reverse is centred on the bold numeral 100 flanked by large ornamental capital letters C at left and right, all contained within an elaborate guilloche border framework. The legend BANCO INTERNACIONAL DE COSTA RICA runs across the top, with CAJA DE CONVERSION in a panel at lower centre. Repeating 100 numerals fill the inner border bands on all four sides, and the American Bank Note Company imprint appears at the lower margin.
