At right, a vignette portrait of Simón Bolívar after François Désiré Roulin; the left margin is reserved as a watermark zone. The central field carries the denomination in words CIEN BOLÍVARES beneath the payment clause PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO, with the issuer title BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA along the upper border and the numeral 100 repeated in each corner.
