| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in shades of violet and mauve on a light guilloche underprint, with an intaglio vignette of the Pul-e Kheshti Mosque in Kabul occupying the right half of the note, its dome and minaret rendered in fine detail. The bank name داَفغانستان بانک appears in a purple cartouche at the top centre, flanked by ornamental corner devices, with the denomination ۱۰۰ افغانی in Eastern Arabic numerals at upper left. Two facsimile signatures appear at centre with their titles in Pashto below, and the year in Eastern Arabic numerals at lower centre. |

The bank name "Da Afghanistan Bank" appears in Latin script within a purple panel at the top, with the numeral "100" at upper right and repeated in the lower border alongside the inscription "Afghanis". A microprint band running along the lower margin repeats "DAAFGHANISTANBANK" continuously. |
