Reverse description The sixteen-petalled Imperial chrysanthemum mon is prominently displayed at the center of the field, surrounded by an ornate wreath of paulownia (kiri) foliage and scrolling karakusa tendrils rendered in high relief. Six Japanese characters arranged in an arc read the commemorative inscription across the upper portion of the field, flanked by decorative dots. To the left and right of the central device, further characters indicate the issuing country and date respectively, while the denomination '10万円' (100,000 Yen) appears in bold relief along the lower arc. The entire design is framed by an inner border of raised beads mirroring that of the obverse.
