| Obverse description | Plain cream paper ground with a light pink underprint vignette at upper right, portraying a bust portrait of Wilhelm Bauer, inventor of the submarine, accompanied by decorative chain and laurel motifs. The denomination 'Mk. 100,000' and legend 'HUNDERTTAUSEND MARK' are printed in bold black letterpress at centre, above the issue date 'Dillingen, am 16. August 1923'.
