| Obverse description | Plain cream paper note printed in black letterpress throughout, with no pictorial vignette on this face. The serial number and series letter appear in a ruled box at upper left, followed by the denomination in large Gothic blackletter script centred across the note. Below, a four-line text body in Roman type sets out the legal tender clause and redemption guarantee, closing with the place and date of issue. An embossed dry seal of the city of Hersfeld is applied at lower left, and two manuscript signatures of the Magistrat appear at lower right. |
