| Obverse description | Central field depicts a detailed rendering of a traditional Lao Buddhist temple (sim) with a multi-tiered roof and ornate colonnaded facade, flanked by stylized palm trees in the background. Two elephants with raised trunks are shown in the foreground, one to the left and one to the right of the temple entrance, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The fineness inscription 'Au 999' appears in the lower central field between the elephants. The denomination '100000 Kip' is inscribed in bold Latin characters along the lower border within a recessed band, while the Lao legend 'ທະນາຄານແຫ່ງ ສປປ ລາວ' curves along the upper border. |

| Reverse description | Central design features the That Luang stupa of Vientiane rising prominently in the upper field, surrounded by radiating sunbeams emanating outward across the mirror-polished background. A seated royal figure holding a ceremonial object is depicted in high relief before the stupa's base, representing the founding monarch of Vientiane. Flanking the central group are detailed renderings of the That Luang temple complex walls and subsidiary structures, with naga serpent decorations visible at lower left and right. The Lao legend 'ສາທາລະນະລັດ ປະຊາທິປະໄຕ ປະຊາຊົນລາວ' arcs across the upper border in three groups. The Latin inscription 'VIENTIANE' and numeral '450' appear in bold characters along the lower border within a recessed band, commemorating the 450th anniversary of Vientiane as the capital. |
