| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait of Rubén Darío, the celebrated Nicaraguan poet, appears at right, rendered in an engraved vignette against a olive-green and cream guilloche underprint. A large black overprint stamp reading '100.000 / CIEN MIL' is applied over the central denomination panel of the original 500 Córdobas note, with a geometric pink and white diamond-pattern underprint visible above. Resolution texts dated 17 and 18 November 1987 are printed to the left, flanking the signatory panel. |
