| Reverse description | The Hungarian royal coat of arms — surmounted by the apostolic double cross and set upon a striped shield — occupies the central vignette, flanked on either side by large block letter 'B' ciphers set within elaborate guilloche work. The corners carry rosette ornaments in folk-art style, and the denomination numeral '100000' appears both at the top and bottom panels. |

This note belongs to the most extreme hyperinflationary episode ever recorded. Hungary's postwar inflation peaked in July 1946 when the daily inflation rate exceeded 200 percent — the monthly rate for July alone was approximately 4.19 × 10¹⁶ percent. The B-pengő (bilpengő) was introduced as a denomination equal to one trillion pengő, meaning this 100,000 B-pengő note represented 10¹⁷ ordinary pengő.
Despite a print run of over twelve million, the notes were functionally obsolete almost immediately upon issue. The forint replaced the entire pengő series on 1 August 1946 at a conversion rate so extreme that no mathematical rounding could make it intuitive.
