Władysław Zawadzki served as Poland's Minister of Finance during the early 1930s, steering fiscal policy through the worst years of the global depression while the country remained committed to the gold standard longer than most of its neighbors. His tenure ended in 1935, the same year Piłsudski died and the political order that had sustained both men collapsed. This coin is part of NBP's long-running series honoring figures of Polish economic and financial history — a program that has produced over a hundred collector issues since the 1990s and shows no sign of stopping.
