Obverse description Central device depicts the crowned Polish White Eagle displayed, with wings spread, facing right, rendered in the heraldic style of the Polish People's Republic — notably without the royal crown, consistent with communist-era coinage. The eagle is shown with talons extended and detailed feather engraving throughout. The circular legend reads 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' around the upper periphery, with the date '1989' flanked by two raised dots at the bottom of the field. The mint mark 'MW' (Mennica Warszawska) appears in small letters to the lower right of the eagle.
