Obverse description The crowned Polish eagle displayed with wings spread, rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, facing right with an open beak. The eagle is depicted without a crown, in the style used by the Polish People's Republic. The circular legend reads 'POLSKA • RZECZPOSPOLITA • LUDOWA' around the upper periphery, with the date '1966' and the mint mark 'mw' positioned in the lower field beneath the eagle's talons.

Reverse description A bold left-facing portrait bust of Tadeusz Kościuszko, the Polish military and national hero, occupying the upper two-thirds of the field in high sculptural relief, depicting him with flowing hair and a cravat. The word 'PRÓBA' (trial/pattern) appears vertically along the left field. The denomination 'ZŁ 10 ZŁ' is inscribed in large characters along the lower portion of the field beneath the truncation of the bust.
