Stanisław Lewiński was a Polish civil engineer and inventor who, in the 1890s, developed an early system for reinforced concrete construction independently of — and roughly contemporaneous with — better-known Western European patents. Poland's broader series honoring forgotten technical pioneers has used these issues to rehabilitate figures whose contributions were obscured first by partition-era statelessness and later by wartime archival destruction.
