His name KAZIMIERZ PRZERWA-TETMAJER and the dates of his birth and death, 1865 and 1940, are inscribed on the rock face behind the portrait. To the left of the effigy, an edelweiss blossom — emblematic of the Podhale highland region closely associated with the poet's work — is rendered in fine detail. The lower portion of the reverse depicts Morskie Oko lake, with reflections of Swiss stone pines and mountain summits mirrored on the water's surface. |
