Issued as part of Poland's long-running "History of the Zloty" collector series, this piece commemorates the monetary history of a currency that was abolished under communist rule in 1950 and replaced with the new złoty at a punishing 100:1 conversion rate — effectively wiping out private savings. The złoty was redenominated again in 1995, cutting four zeros, closing a decades-long inflationary chapter that stretched back through martial law and the collapse of central planning.
