Additional information

Adam Krzyżanowski (1873–1963) was an economist and professor at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków whose liberal, anti-interventionist views put him at odds with successive Polish governments — interwar, occupied, and postwar alike. He was briefly imprisoned by the Nazis in 1939 during the Sonderaktion Krakau, in which German forces arrested 183 Jagiellonian academics under the pretense of an academic lecture. He survived, returned to teaching, and continued publishing into his eighties, long after communist authorities had effectively sidelined his school of thought.
