Obverse description Central device features the Polish state eagle of the People's Republic — a stylized, uncrowned eagle with spread wings rendered in bold relief, facing right — occupying the majority of the coin's field. The dates 1944 and 1964 appear flanking the eagle's talons, with the mint year 1964 repeated along the lower arc beneath the eagle. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the upper periphery, separated by bullet stops, engraved by Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz in a vigorous socialist-realist sculptural style.

Reverse description A semi-draped allegorical female figure, rendered in high relief in a socialist-realist style, is depicted in left-facing profile at center, her braided hair falling over her shoulder. She cradles a large sheaf of wheat in her arms, symbolizing agricultural prosperity, while to her left a tall electric transmission pylon rises prominently, representing industrial progress. At lower center, a rectangular tablet bears the inscription XX LAT PRL, commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the People's Republic of Poland. The denomination 10 ZŁ appears in large numerals to the right, the word PRÓBA (trial/pattern) is inscribed vertically along the left field, and the engraver's initials W.K. for Wacław Kowalik appear at the lower left near the base of the pylon.
