Reverse description The reverse features a colorfully enameled stylized rat depicted in a traditional Chinese folk-art manner, rendered predominantly in red, green, and yellow applied color. The rat is shown in a dynamic upright pose, holding a cluster of grapes in one forepaw and a basket of coins and ingots symbolic of prosperity in the other, set against a background of delicate lotus blossom motifs in the silver field. The cyclical Chinese calendar designation 庚子 appears to the lower left of the central design, identifying the Gengzi year. The denomination 10元 is inscribed in the lower right portion of the field in Chinese characters and Arabic numerals.
