China's lunar silver program had by 1999 settled into a reliable annual cycle, but the Rabbit issue from that year draws collector attention for a specific production reason: the People's Bank contracted both the Shenyang and Shanghai mints for lunar strikes during this period, and subtle die differences between the two facilities exist across the series. Confirming which facility struck a given example requires die attribution rather than any mint mark.
