| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national emblem of the People's Republic of China at center, comprising the Gate of Tiananmen above a representation of Tiananmen Square, encircled by a wreath of grain ears and surmounted by five stars. The emblem is set within a finely detailed border incorporating traditional Chinese decorative motifs in relief. A circular outer legend in Chinese characters runs along the periphery of the coin, with the year date 2012 visible in the lower portion of the field. |
