Additional information

Part of China's long-running series of coins depicting classical paintings, the 1994 issue draws from the genre of "yingxi" — children at play — a subject with deep roots in Song Dynasty court painting, particularly associated with Su Hanchen. The series was produced by the China Mint for the collector market and saw limited domestic circulation, with most examples absorbed immediately by international numismatic distributors throughout the 1990s.
