| Obverse description | Central depiction of a traditional Chinese multi-tiered pavilion rendered in fine detail, its upturned eaves and ornate architectural elements occupying the majority of the field. The structure is presented in a precise, engraved style evoking classical Chinese palace architecture. The legend 中華人民共和國 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters. The date 2000 appears in the lower exergue. A faint additional inscription is present beneath the pavilion in small characters. |
