| Obverse description | Central field depicts a highly detailed rendering of the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan) in Beijing, shown in three-quarter frontal elevation with its characteristic triple-tiered circular roof and surrounding marble terrace and balustrades. The structure is rendered with fine engraving against a mirror-like proof field. The upper legend reads 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) in Chinese characters, arranged along the upper border within a frosted band. The date 1993 appears in Arabic numerals along the lower border. |
