Hengshan, the Northern Sacred Mountain in Shanxi Province, was one of five in a series China Mint issued through the early 1990s celebrating the Wuyue — the five Daoist sacred peaks recognized since at least the Han dynasty. The 1993 release completed the set for many collectors, though individual mountains had been issued across different years with inconsistent availability in Western markets, making complete runs genuinely difficult to assemble.
