| Reverse description | Colorized depiction of a celestial maiden in flowing pink and green robes, her figure in dynamic motion as she flies above turbulent ocean waves, scattering what appear to be flowers or pebbles into the sea — an allusion to the Chinese legend of Jingwei (精卫填海), in which a transformed bird attempts to fill the sea. The figure wears a floral headdress and is portrayed with graceful, outstretched wings, in a vivid polychrome enamel style typical of Chinese commemorative issues. The legend 精卫填海 is inscribed in Chinese characters along the upper portion of the field. The denomination 10元 appears in the lower right field. |
