| Obverse description | Central field features the denomination characters 拾圓 (Ten Yuan) enclosed within a finely detailed grain and blossom wreath tied at the base. Surrounding the wreath, four floral rosette ornaments are evenly distributed in the field at the cardinal points. The upper peripheral legend reads 中華民國十五年 (Year 15 of the Republic of China) while the lower legend reads 山東省金幣 (Shantung Province Gold Coin), all rendered in traditional Chinese characters. The design is bounded by a finely reeded border. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicts a confronted dragon and phoenix in high relief, flanking a central ornamental ceremonial vessel or altar table decorated with geometric fret (卍) patterns and dot embellishments, surmounted by a flaming pearl. The sinuous dragon occupies the right side of the field, its scaled body and clawed feet rendered in fine detail, while the elaborate phoenix with outstretched wings and flowing tail feathers occupies the left. The tails and bodies of both creatures intertwine below the central vessel, filling the field with dynamic movement. The design is enclosed by a reeded border with no peripheral legend. |
