| Obverse description | Green letterpress print on buff paper. An oval vignette at left contains a junk under sail on rough coastal waters with cliffs in the background; a rectangular vignette at right shows a rural landscape with a farmer plowing a field with an ox, trees, and a stone bridge. The large denomination numeral cartouche in the centre bears the value 拾圓 (Ten Yuan) within an ornate scrollwork frame, flanked by two red official seal chops below.
