| Reverse description | The reverse, also heart-shaped, depicts a naturalistic arrangement of blooming lily flowers with large petals and leaves rendered in fine relief occupying the lower and central field. In the upper right corner, a colorized rectangular cartouche features a goldfish (鲤鱼) amid lotus blossoms executed in traditional cloisonné-style polychrome enamel with a green and red color scheme and a decorative border. The inscription 百年好合 (meaning 'may you remain a devoted couple for a hundred years') appears in Chinese characters within the field, along with the denomination 10 元 (10 Yuan) at the upper left. The combination of the lily motif and the goldfish cartouche evokes traditional Chinese wedding and auspicious symbolism. |
