| Obverse description | The national emblem of the People's Republic of China is rendered in high relief at the center of the field, depicting Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars, encircled by a wreath of grain sheaves and a cogwheel at the base. The circular legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) runs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters. The date 2021 is inscribed in the lower exergue in Arabic numerals. The design is executed with a mirror-finish proof surface against a frosted relief. |

The Xinhai Revolution of 1911 ended 268 years of Qing dynasty rule and toppled the last imperial government in Chinese history, replacing it with the Republic of China under Sun Yat-sen. The People's Republic has commemorated this anniversary selectively — the 100th in 2011 received considerably more fanfare, making the 110th a quieter, smaller-mintage issue by comparison.
