Obverse description Plain concave field enclosed by a raised inner rim and a broad flat outer rim. Three large Kanji characters are disposed within the field in triangular arrangement: the character 局 (bureau) prominently centered in the upper field, with 造 (mint) at lower left and 幣 (currency) at lower right, together reading 造幣局 (Mint Bureau). The characters are rendered in bold incuse relief against the smooth nickel field, with no additional decorative elements. The design served as an internal identification piece for the Osaka Mint during trial striking.

Reverse description Smooth concave field framed by a raised inner rim and wide flat outer rim, bearing three stylized paulownia (kiri) flower and leaf sprigs in relief. A single centrally positioned paulownia sprig occupies the upper field, while two larger, more elaborate paulownia clusters are symmetrically placed at lower left and lower right. The paulownia motif is the traditional emblem of the Japanese government and appears here as the principal decorative device, rendered with fine botanical detail showing petaled blossoms and lobed leaves. No inscriptions or numerals appear on this face.
