Obverse description The obverse presents a central vignette of a Japanese shrine or memorial gate set within a landscaped garden, framed by an intricate guilloche border with scrollwork at the corners. To the right, the Bank of Taiwan seal in red is set within a floral underprint alongside vertical Chinese characters giving the bank name and denomination. The serial number and issue series number appear in the upper and lower margins, with the printer's imprint running along the bottom edge in small characters.

Reverse description The reverse centres on a vignette of a coastal landscape with a lighthouse on a distant promontory beneath a clouded sky, rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. A large dark guilloche medallion to the right carries the denomination characters 拾圓, while the denomination numeral 10 appears at each upper corner within circular cartouches. The border consists of a scalloped guilloche frame in olive-brown tones, with the legend 10 YEN in bold roman type along the lower margin.
